Local SEO Services Singapore

Local SEO in Singapore is the work of getting your business into Google's map results (the "local pack") and local search results when people nearby look for what you offer, such as "dental clinic Tampines" or "aircon servicing near me". Google ranks these results on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Our local SEO services cover all three, from your Google Business Profile and reviews to consistent business details across the web, useful location pages and the technical SEO underneath.

What Is Local SEO, and How Is It Different From Regular SEO?

Regular SEO competes for rankings across the whole country or region. Local SEO competes for searches with local intent, where Google shows a map with three businesses above or among the normal results. Those results change with the searcher's location, so even on an island as compact as Singapore, someone searching for a physiotherapy clinic in Jurong West sees a different list from someone in Tampines.

Local SEO matters most for businesses that serve customers at a physical location or within a service area: clinics, F&B outlets, salons, tuition centres, law firms, car workshops, retail shops, renovation contractors, movers and home services. If you sell only online or mainly to overseas buyers, national SEO usually matters more than map rankings.

How Google Ranks Local Businesses

Google's own Business Profile guidance names three factors:

  • Relevance: how well your profile and website match the search, including your business categories, services and descriptions.
  • Distance: how far your business is from the searcher, or from the place named in the search. You can't move your shop, but you can make sure Google knows exactly where you are and which areas you serve.
  • Prominence: how well known your business is. This includes your Google review count and rating, links and mentions in articles and directories, and how well your website ranks in normal search results.

What Our Local SEO Services Include

  • Google Business Profile setup and optimisation: the right primary and secondary categories, services, opening hours (including public holiday hours), photos, products and regular updates.
  • Listing clean-up: verification, removing duplicate or outdated listings and fixing map pins in the wrong place.
  • Consistent business details (NAP): the same business name, address (with unit number and postal code) and phone number on your website, Google, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Facebook and the Singapore directories that matter for your industry.
  • Reviews: a simple process for asking every customer for a Google review and replying to each one. We never buy reviews or only ask happy customers, as both break Google's rules.
  • Location and service-area pages: one useful page per outlet or area, with real details such as the nearest MRT station, parking, hours, photos and the services offered there, not thin copies with the town name swapped.
  • Local keyword research: how people actually search for your service, including neighbourhood and MRT names and "near me" searches.
  • Local schema markup: structured data with your address, map coordinates, opening hours and phone number, matching your Business Profile.
  • Technical SEO and mobile speed: most local searches happen on phones, so we fix broken links and images, duplicate titles and descriptions, canonical and redirect errors, sitemap and robots.txt issues, and slow pages.
  • Tracking that shows leads: calls, direction requests and website visits from your profile, plus form and WhatsApp enquiries, so you see enquiries and not just rankings.

Outlets, Service Areas and Virtual Offices

Each physical outlet should have its own verified Business Profile and its own page on your website. If you visit customers instead of receiving them, for example aircon servicing, plumbing or moving, Google's guidelines ask you to hide your address and list the areas you serve instead.

Many Singapore companies register at a virtual office or co-working address. Google does not allow a Business Profile at a virtual office unless it is staffed during your business hours, and listings at addresses you don't really operate from risk suspension. We set up your listings within the rules, because a suspended profile loses its reviews and rankings overnight.

How Long Does Local SEO Take?

Fixing your profile, categories and business details can improve visibility within weeks. In busy categories and areas, building reviews, links and local content usually takes several months. Nobody can guarantee a top three spot on Google Maps, and you will always rank more easily near your own address than across the island.

Local SEO and AI Search

Google's AI Overviews, Gemini and ChatGPT also recommend local businesses, and they draw on the same signals: business profiles, reviews, directories and websites. Consistent details and genuine reviews help you there too. Our GEO and AI search service covers this in more depth.

Local SEO should also fit your wider strategy and positioning. If you sell island-wide or overseas as well, we balance local pages with national SEO so they support each other instead of competing. When the goal is more enquiries overall, see our lead generation services.

Local SEO FAQs

How much does local SEO cost in Singapore?

It depends on how many outlets you have, how competitive your category is and the state of your current profile and website. The audit is free, the simplest fixes can be done free of charge, and fixes that need more work start from S$100. Ongoing local SEO is quoted after the audit, so you know what the work covers before you commit.

Do I need a website for local SEO?

A Business Profile can appear on Google Maps without a website, but a good website makes your business more relevant and more prominent, and it is where most enquiries happen. Google also shut down the free websites made with Business Profiles in 2024, so a proper site matters more now.

Can I rank in areas where I don't have an outlet?

Useful service-area pages can help you appear in normal search results for those areas. Map results, however, favour businesses close to the searcher, and creating fake addresses breaks Google's guidelines.

Should I offer discounts for Google reviews?

No. Google does not allow reviews in exchange for discounts, gifts or payment. Ask every customer, make it easy with a direct review link, and reply to every review, good or bad.
